When the first settlers enter the Plains region of the United States the sight they say was amazing. They saw an immense brown sea of thundering Bison, Bison as far as the plains where long. Earlier settlers hunted the Bison for food and clothing much like the Native Americans of the region. However, the settlers did one thing vastly different – They hunted the Plains Bison into a near extinction.
Thanks to modern farming, help from ranchers, private groups and much needed legislation the Plains Bison have made a come back, a come back that would prove to be beneficial to the modern day hunters who seek the trill of hunting one of North Americas largest game animals.
Many western ranches, guides and outfitters offer hunters the chance to bag a trophy bull in a fair chase hunt; where you’ll likely encounter pronghorn antelope, mule deer, wild turkeys, and other prairie animals.
